Recording Controls

Pause, resume, and stop without leaving your workflow.

Sirvez displays a small floating overlay with pause, resume, and stop controls while you record, so you can manage the session without switching back to the extension.

The 3-second countdown timer before recording starts gives you time to position your cursor, close any sensitive tabs, and get ready without a rushed start.

What it does

Floating overlay

Non-intrusive control bar sits in the corner of the screen during recording.

Pause and resume

Pause mid-recording to collect your thoughts or skip a mistake.

3-second countdown

Grace period before recording begins so you can prepare the screen.

The pre-recording settings panel lets you configure all recording options in one place before you begin: microphone on or off, Cursor Highlight, Webcam PiP, and output quality.

Who uses this

  • Long walkthroughs that benefit from natural pauses
  • Tutorials requiring setup between steps
  • Any recording where a mistake happens mid-session

Common questions

Does the floating control bar appear in the recording?

No. The controls overlay operates at a layer above the recording capture area. It is injected as a browser overlay that sits outside the captured region, so it does not appear in the recorded video output. Viewers watching your finished recording only see the screen content you intended to capture. The pause, resume, and stop buttons are visible only to you during the live recording session. Can I pause and resume multiple times in one session?

Yes. You can pause and resume as many times as needed within a single recording session. Each pause-resume cycle produces a seamless cut in the output — the paused time is not included in the final video, so there is no visible gap or freeze frame between sections. This makes multi-pause sessions useful for longer walkthroughs where you need time to navigate between steps, look up information, or reset the screen between segments. Full answer →

What happens if I forget to click Stop?

The recording continues running indefinitely until you click Stop in the floating controls or explicitly end the session. Sirvez does not automatically stop a recording after a set duration. If you close the recording tab without stopping, the session ends. If you leave it running unattended, it will continue accumulating footage. Always click Stop when you are finished to ensure the recording ends cleanly and appears in your Local Library ready for review. Full answer →
