Common questions
Can I record without any audio?
Yes. Before starting any recording you can choose from four audio options: microphone only, tab audio only, both sources combined, or no audio at all. The default is microphone audio enabled, but you can deselect every source if you need a completely silent recording. This is useful for recordings of sensitive content where narration is not appropriate, or when you plan to add a voiceover later in an external editor. Full answer →
Why is there no tab audio in my recording?
Tab audio requires the browser tab to be actively producing audio through the Web Audio API during recording. If the tab is muted at the browser level, if the site's audio permission is blocked, or if the content in the tab is not currently playing sound, there is nothing for Sirvez to capture. Check that the tab is producing audible sound, that tab audio is selected in the Sirvez settings, and that the browser has not blocked the site's audio before starting. Full answer →
Does Sirvez capture audio from other applications?
Tab Recording captures audio exclusively from the selected browser tab using the Web Audio API — audio from other tabs, other browsers, or any desktop application is not included. Desktop Recording captures system-level audio, which includes sound from all applications currently producing audio on your computer, not just the browser. If you need to include audio from a desktop application such as a video editor or media player, use Desktop Recording mode. Full answer →
