Sharing
Local Library
Recordings stay on your device until you choose to share.
The Local Library stores all your recordings inside the Chrome extension until you decide to upload, giving you time to review and edit before anything leaves your device.
Privacy by default: nothing is sent to Sirvez servers until you click Upload. You can keep recordings in the local library indefinitely and upload only the ones that are ready.
What it does
On-device storage
Recordings persist in the extension between browser sessions.
Upload on your terms
Nothing is uploaded automatically — you choose when to share.
Review before sharing
Watch back and edit in the local editor before the video reaches the cloud.
Who uses this
- Privacy-conscious users working with sensitive content
- Internal recordings that may never need to be shared
- Recordings that need review and editing before distribution
Common questions
How much storage does the Local Library use?
Local Library recordings are stored in your browser's local extension storage. A typical 5-minute screen recording ranges from roughly 50 MB to 200 MB depending on resolution and on-screen activity. High-motion recordings at full HD use more space than static walkthroughs. If you accumulate many large recordings without uploading or deleting them, the extension's storage will grow accordingly. Delete recordings you no longer need, or upload them to Media Center and remove the local copy, to free space. Full answer →
Are Local Library recordings private?
Yes. Recordings stored in the Local Library never leave your device until you explicitly click Upload. They are not synced to Sirvez servers, not accessible to anyone else, and not visible in your Media Center library. They exist only within the local storage of the Chrome extension on that specific browser. This makes the Local Library appropriate for recordings of sensitive content, internal processes, or anything you are not yet ready to share or may never share at all. Full answer →
What happens to my Local Library if I uninstall the extension?
All recordings stored in the Local Library will be permanently deleted when you uninstall the Chrome extension. Browser extension storage is tied to the extension itself — when it is removed, everything stored inside it is removed with it. Before uninstalling, download any recordings you want to keep to your computer, or upload them to Sirvez Media Center. There is no way to recover Local Library recordings after the extension has been uninstalled. Full answer →
